Job description:
The Detection Dog Trainer will be responsible for training and conditioning dogs for detection work. With our most common scents being drugs, explosives, but other targeted items may be required from time to time.
This role involves designing the dog’s training programs, working closely with dogs to develop their detection skills, maintaining their health and well-being, and ensuring their readiness for fieldwork through environmental exposure.
Duties involved:
· Ensure the health and welfare of dogs is maintained to company standard.
· Maintain and ensure safe handling of training samples.
· Train a group of up to 8 green dogs to meet to clients’ specifications.
· Complete detailed real time training records for the dogs.
· Comply with company policies and procedures.
· Conduct risk assessments as required.
· Maintain vehicle, equipment, and project equipment.
Required
· Experience of training Detection Dogs
· Computer literate.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Ability to work alone and effectively problem solve.
· Full UK driving license, with no more than 6 points.
· Full police background checks will be conducted in addition to DBS check (for licencing purposes).
Desired
· NASDU Instruct and Train.
· Prior Police, Military or Gov Agency dog training qualification.
· Experience of training Detection Dogs to either DSTL, FREDD or NCTAS-P level or government / national certification is a bonus

(An Advantage)
*The trainer must have experience training dogs to a superior level of protection (no harsh methods considered).
*Detection / Search (sniffer) dog training would also be an advantage.
The Training will be based at our kennels in Roscrea, Co.Tipperary, Ireland. The trainer must be able work as part as a team and prepared to take direction to exacting standards.

Wanted: Apprentice Dog Trainers
We are looking for a "Apprentice Dog Trainer / Kennel Master" to start immediately. This is a 2 year apprenticeship. This is a very rare opportunity for anyone wishing to work in the dog industry. We will teach you all areas of our dog training from obedience, protection, search and detection.
